Why did ABC Family come out with so many new shows this year?

Switched at birth. The Nine Lives of Cloe King. The State of Georgia.
The Lying Game. Thats four new shows. Im not possitive, but didnt
they only have new shows last year? Pretty Little Liars and Melissa
and Joey.

Why so many this year?
