Matt Damon Pulls From Directorial Debut, Can Always Star: Report
"Script issues" are allegedly the reason for Matt Damon's decision to not direct his first film, although he's apparently still game to star within the film, based on Vulture. Damon's decision to forego pointing responsibilities around the untitled movie -- the creation of John Krasinski and Dork Eggers -- is the stranger since Damon co-authored the script with Eggers (of McSweeney's fame). Possibly Damon did not wish to put on three hats within the film, by which he'd play a salesperson whose arrival in a tiny town changes his existence. (And, most probably, the other way around, because of the way this stuff usually engage in.) Krasinski and Frances McDormand were also set to star, even though fate from the project appears up in mid-air. The apparent suggestion: Get Oscar-discussing buddy Film Clip to direct.
